Can Tho is a city directly under the central government of Vietnam, is the most modern and developed city in the Mekong Delta, Can Tho is currently a grade I urban center, an economic, cultural and social center, health, education and commerce of the Mekong Delta, is the central city at regional and national level along with Da Nang and Hai Phong. Can Tho city is home to many different ethnic groups. The Khmer people in Can Tho are not many, mainly concentrated around the pagoda or scattered with the Vietnamese in the districts of Ninh Kieu, O Mon and Thot Not. In 2019, Can Tho tourism welcomed 8.8 million visitors, an increase of 4.6% over the same period in 2018. Last year, the Can Tho Tourism Association admitted 13 new members, bringing the total number of members to 82. Currently, the association has 8 clubs, including: Hotel, Travel, Transport, Guide Tourist Park, Tennis, Cai Rang District Tourist Garden, Phong Dien District Tourist Garden, Phuong Nam Delicious Kitchen.
